On Sunday, June 28, when carrying out border checks on persons crossing the State border, border guards refused entry to Latvia to a Ukrainian citizen born in 1969, as the movement of persons and vehicles through the external border crossing points of the European Union is prohibited from 17 March this year. On receipt of a refusal of entry, a Ukrainian citizen presented an OCTA policy with a €50 note inserted in it to border guards.

In turn, during the holiday on 22 June, border guards identified a Russian citizen who was born in Latvia during border checks, who offered to pay border guards if they did not place crossing stamps on the man's passenger passports, so that passengers in Austria should not be quarantined for 14 days.
