On Thursday, July 16, border guards provided their first medical treatment to a two-year-old child who had choked.
Officials of the State Border Guard Aviation Administration, returning from the mission, on the road stage, the Riteņi-Pļaviņas spotted a car parked on the side of the road with emergency lights on and a person standing in the middle of the road trying to draw attention and stop cars moving in front of him.
Border guards immediately stopped their car and walked over to the person above. A distraught woman asked to help her two-year-old child came to the border guards.
Border guards looked at the child and found he had signs of choking and was unconscious.
Aviation Administration officials immediately called the Emergency Medical Service and provided the child with the first medical treatment after which he came to the senses.
The child was taken to the hospital after the arrival of the Emergency Medical Service.
The State Border Guard Aviation Administration border guards have successfully acquired the TCCC (Tactical Combat Casualty Care) course, which contributed to the provision of high-quality first aid.
