On Tuesday, June 29, the Cabinet of Ministers issued an order to allocate 11,393 euros to the Ministry of the Interior for contingencies to be transferred to Daugavpils City Council to pay overtime and night work allowance to Daugavpils municipal police officers who monitored the movement ban during the pandemic from January 1 to February 7 this year.
Payment for overtime work and supplement for night work is provided in the amount of 75 per cent of the calculated amount of remuneration (together with the employer's mandatory state social insurance contributions).
It has already been reported that, in order to limit the spread of COVID-19, not only the State Police but also the municipal police officers were involved in the performance of their duties beyond the established duty hours in order to monitor the observance of restrictions on the movement of the population. The municipal police ensured public order and security by patrolling the territories of the respective municipalities - cities and counties of the Republic.
Daugavpils City Municipality police officers in the period from January 1, 2021 to February 7, 2021, controlling the observance of the ban on movement of residents in the period from 22.00 to 5.00, adopted 167 decisions on the initiation of administrative violation proceedings for non-compliance with the restrictions on the movement of residents established during the emergency situation. During the above-mentioned period, 44 decisions were initiated to initiate administrative infringement proceedings for other administrative offenses, 225 reprimands were issued for minor administrative offenses and 14 persons who reasonably left the place of residence during the movement ban were inspected.
