Last day, during the period from 6:30 July 7 to 6:30 July, the National Fire and Rescue Service (VUGD) received 43 calls – 15 to the fire, including one on the clearing of the wildfire, 18 on rescue jobs, while 10 calls were missteps.
At 02:27 VUGD was informed that flames were rising from the building in Gulbene. Arriving at the scene, firefighters rescued that the roof of a one-storey unmanaged wooden building with an area of 200 m2 and an added shed with an area of 36 m2 were burning with an open flame. At 05:11 this high-risk fire was extinguished.
After eight hours of work at 16.25, firefighters rescued a high-risk fire on Kūdras Street in Olaine, where a one-storey wooden house with a roof of 800 m2 was built with an open flame and a strong smoke had formed. The call was received at 08:21 and at 09:36 the spread of fire was limited. There are no victims.
The night before, firefighters also went to calls, where waste, household and roof structure burned, toilet room, bulkhead, wiring, electricity switchboard, two cars, and in two other cases, lighted-up food left unattended on the stove.
