On Monday, May 11, in the framework of criminal proceedings, police at Salaspils precinct in cooperation with road police in Riga took measures to prevent illegal movements of excise goods In Riga.

Police detained a man born in 1971 suspected of possession and marketing of illegal excise goods. Information at the police's disposal shows that he marketed illegal cigarettes to residents of both Salaspils and Riga.

In search of his place of residence and his car, the police identified and seized 35 000 illegal cigarettes with Belarusian excise stamps.
