On 23 November, the Minister of the Interior Kristaps Eklons, met with the Executive Director of the European Union Agency for the Protection of Rights (Europol), Catherine de Bolle. During the meeting, the participants discussed the cooperation of Latvian law enforcement authorities with Europol and the challenges related to the current crises. The meeting also discussed amendments to the Europol Regulation aimed at strengthening the capacity of Europol to better support Member States in the fight against emerging threats.
In the morning, the Ministry hosted a high-level meeting of law enforcement authorities with the Executive Director of Europol, including on the analytical and operational support of Europol to Latvian law enforcement authorities in preventing and combating cross-border serious and organized crime.
The Executive Director of Europol also visited the State Police.
