On 25 May, the Operational Control Centre of Civil Protection (OCCCP), headed by the State Secretary of the Ministry of the Interior, held its regular meeting. In line with the proposals of the Ministry of the Interior on the Law on Support for Ukrainian Civilians, which were approved at the last meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers and which provide for the extension of the coverage of primary support services - accommodation and catering of Ukrainian civilians - by the state budget for another 30 days for those Ukrainian civilians who registered for the service by 24 May, the OCCCP instructed each institution represented by the OCCCP to submit by 30 May its solutions for further provision of accommodation and catering.
These proposals will be evaluated and presented to the political leadership of the line ministries involved for final decision. It should be noted that the amount of state budget resources and the provision of primary support (accommodation and catering) to the Ukrainian civilian population vary considerably from one European country to another.
Furthermore, the OCCCP decided that, without waiting for the entry into force of the decision on the establishment of a special commission for the selection of state and municipal real estate to be adapted for the long-term accommodation of Ukrainian civilians, the actual execution of the tasks of the envisaged commission to select the real estate to be adapted, as well as to equip the real estate with the necessary equipment for this purpose, should start within a week.
In addition, the OCCCP also agreed that the Ministry of Education and Science, in cooperation with the Public Integration Foundation and the Ministry of Culture, would submit proposals for the organization of integrative camps for Ukrainian civilians (children, teenagers) involving Latvian children to the next meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers.
