Taking into account the restrictive measures of Covid-19 established in the country, in accordance with the Cabinet of Ministers Regulations No. 360 "Epidemiological safety measures to control the spread of Covid-19 infection" shall prohibit the movement of persons and vehicles through the external border crossing points of the European Union from / to the countries published on the website of the Center for Disease Prevention and Control. 19 the spread of an infection that can pose a serious threat to public health. The regulations of the Cabinet of Ministers also define the categories of persons in respect of whom restrictions on crossing the external border are not applicable.

Considering that a relatively large number of persons are not identified at border crossing points, for whom the exceptions for crossing the external border do not apply, the State Border Guard invites persons to carefully check the right to cross the external border before the planned trip.

Given that persons are often unsure of their right to cross the external border in a given situation, the State Border Guard receives a significant number of applications on a daily basis with a request to provide an explanation of the right to cross the external border or to allow it on an exceptional basis. In addition, it should be noted that a relatively large number of applications are submitted at the last minute just before the planned crossing of the external border.

Considering that each application must be examined objectively on the merits, going into the specific situation on the basis of the factual circumstances and documents indicated by the applicant, the preparation of the answer takes a certain time.

Section 5, Paragraph three of the Law on Submissions provides that the Institution shall provide an answer within a reasonable time, taking into account the urgency of resolving the issue referred to in the submission, but not later than within one month from the receipt of the submission.

Therefore, in order to avoid situations when a person is not allowed to cross the external border when arriving at the specific border crossing point, we invite applications to be submitted in time before the planned trip and to plan the external border crossing ONLY after receiving the answer.
