Also during an emergency, the State Agency of Security, taking into account the necessary security measures, shall continue to carry out the takeover of cases by taking decisions regarding the handling of material evidence (arrested property) in criminal proceedings and administrative infringement proceedings of removed property.
When compiling information on the property taken over at the beginning of 2020, it can be found that compared to February, when the state of emergency had not yet been announced and a major takeover was carried out, the number of cases taken over in April of this year has even increased by 10%. It is also noted that the announcement of an emergency in the country has not significantly affected the behaviour of the infringers.
In the month of February, cigarettes were heavily taken over (approximately 36 million ) and alcohol-containing liquid (approximately 12 tonnes), but in April these figures have been significantly lower – around 5.6 million cigarette and 0,6 t alcohol containing liquid. In turn, the number of vehicles taken over in April has increased significantly (in February – 15, April – 69), as well as the amount of fuel-specific liquid taken over (around 1.8 tonnes in February, around 60 tonnes in April).
During that period, the State Agency of Conservation has also taken over 796 boxes of tobacco and 520 tonnes of biopolymer.
All the referred to property shall be taken over and stored by the State Agency of Security with its resources, involving the technical base and personal resources available in the institution.
