This year, approximately three times more students want to use the opportunity to obtain state-paid higher legal education in the program “Police Work” of Riga Stradiņa University than last year. Currently, 82 people have applied for the program, while last year 28 students were enrolled, and in 2018 - 41 students.
“Considering the closure of the Latvian Police Academy, we looked for other ways to offer quality and competitive education to the new candidates. In cooperation with Riga Stradiņš University, we created both bachelor's and master's programs with the opportunity to obtain higher legal education, which provides a wide range of knowledge and experience. At the same time, the program provides an opportunity to gain unique work experience in the State Police. For those who intend to study law, the right choice will be the education offered by the home affairs system, which will be a solid foundation for success in life and work, as well as an opportunity to become an integral part of our national security system, ”says Interior Minister Sandis Ģirģens.
