European Union Home Affairs Funds promote effective management of immigration matters and a high level of security in the EU, as well as support integrated border security and the common visa policy.
In the programming period 2021–2027, the European Union's Home Affairs Funds include three funds:
- Internal Security Fund (ISF);
- Asylum, Immigration and Integration Fund (AMIF);
- Border Management and Visa Instrument (BMVI).
The Managing authority of the ISF, AMIF and BMVI in Latvia is the Ministry of the Interior of the Republic of Latvia, which is responsible for the implementation of the funds and for the monitoring and control of projects supported from these funds.
